I’m thrilled to be launching the pre-sale of my first photobook Close to the Bayou. This project has been three years in the making and while I’m still several months away from holding the finished book in my hands, this is a big step forward in getting to that point.

I’m excited to connect with friends and strangers about this project in the coming weeks. I’ve been keeping it largely under wraps for the last few years so it’s incredible to be able to finally share it with the world.

Between now and January 8th I’ll be running a DIY crowdfunding campaign to fund this project. I’ve set an ambitious goal of pre-selling 250 copies of the book to get this project off the ground. I’ve run a Kickstarter campaign in the past and while I think Kickstarter and other platforms are great tools, the 10% that ends up going to their commission and fees just doesn’t sit right with me. I want every contribution to go as far as possible!
